NAD+ Precursor · Longevity Science

The molecule your cells have been waiting for.

NMN is a precursor to NAD+ — the coenzyme that powers metabolism, DNA repair, and cellular energy. Gaja Labs produces it at pharmaceutical purity, batch-tested by independent laboratories.

The Science

Why NMN matters for healthy aging.

As we age, NAD+ levels in our cells decline — by as much as 50% between ages 40 and 60. NMN is the most direct dietary precursor we know of to restore them.

Fuels NAD+

NMN converts to NAD+ — the coenzyme behind 500+ enzymatic reactions, from energy production to sirtuin signaling.

Cellular energy

NAD+ is essential to mitochondrial function. Restoring it has been linked to improved endurance and metabolic health.

DNA repair

Sirtuins and PARPs — both NAD+-dependent — regulate gene expression and repair the DNA damage that accumulates with age.

How it Works

From a single capsule to every cell in your body.

  1. 01

    Absorption

NMN is absorbed through the small intestine via a dedicated Slc12a8 transporter.

  2. 02

    Distribution

Within minutes, NMN reaches tissues including muscle, brain, and liver.

  3. 03

    Conversion

Inside cells, NMN is rapidly converted to NAD+ by the NMNAT enzyme family.

  4. 04

    Action

NAD+ powers sirtuins, mitochondria, and DNA repair pathways across the body.

Common Questions

Answers, grounded in research.

We don't make medical claims. We point you to the science and show our work.

What is NMN, exactly?
Nicotinamide Mononucleotide is a naturally-occurring nucleotide found in trace amounts in foods like broccoli and avocado. It is the direct biochemical precursor to NAD+.
How is NMN different from NR or niacin?
NR (nicotinamide riboside) is one step further from NAD+ in the salvage pathway. Niacin is a different vitamin (B3) that follows a separate route to NAD+. NMN converts to NAD+ in a single enzymatic step.
What dose does Gaja Labs provide?
Each capsule provides 500 mg of β-NMN. Most published human studies use between 250 mg and 1,000 mg daily.
Is it safe?
Published human trials have reported NMN as well-tolerated up to 1,200 mg/day. As with any supplement, consult your physician before starting — especially if you are pregnant, nursing, or taking medication.
